Blog Assignment #17

Johann Georg Ferdinand Muller was a great Christian evangelist and orphanage director is Bristol, England. He cared for 10,024 orphans in his life and was even accused of raising the poor above their given position in life because of the education he provided for them. He was totally reliant on God for his and the children's needs and was not let down by the Lord Almighty.
Muller preached at Bethesda Chapel in Bristol from 1832 until he died, in 1875, at age 70. There, he started schools based on Scripture and not government-supported. Muller and his wife opened their home for 30 orphan girls and added three more houses down the street to their growing orphanage in order to house a total of 130 children. By 1870, 1,722 children were living in his orphanages that encompassed 5 houses that could house up to 2,050 people.
Through out all of this, Muller never had to make a single request for financial help even though the houses cost  over $155,000 to build. many times he received food donations only hours before they were needed to feed the children. Muller asked only God for help and people were used by God to answer his requests. Every child in the orphanage was given a Bible, a tin trunk and two changes of clothes upon leaving the orphanage. Muller also helped each child secure a professional apprenticeship and not have to work in the mines of factories with their education.
